Smoked mackerel mash up!

This is so so easy to make and you know 100% what's going in it. Shop bought mackerel pates can be full of hidden / excessive fats (random oils!), preservatives and sugar. This takes one minute to put together and provides you with protein and healthy fats to nourish your body and brain.

Ingredients:

  • 1 smoked mackerel fillet

  • 1 level tbs crème fraiche (I had reduced fat in my fridge from another recipe but either full fat or reduced is fine)

  • Big squeeze of lemon juice

  • Freshly ground black pepper


Method:

  • Flake the fish into a bowl, discard the skin

  • Mix in the crème fraiche and lemon juice

  • Black pepper over the top

Serve on its own with salad or on crispbreads, toasts, rice cakes, oat cakes, cucumber. Yum.
